Faith. Friendship. Understanding.

The San Diego Interfaith Coalition was founded in 2016 out of a shared conviction: that meaningful dialogue between people of different faiths is not only possible, but essential. What began with a small group of visionary leaders has grown into a vibrant, diverse community of members representing multiple Christian denominations alongside Bahá'í, Muslim, Buddhist, and Jewish congregations throughout San Diego.

We come together each month to explore the questions, values, and experiences that shape our lives of faith — discovering where our traditions converge and learning to honor where they differ. Our conversations are grounded in respect, nurtured by trust, and guided by a belief that genuine understanding begins with a willingness to truly listen.

Our mission is to advance peacemaking, reduce misunderstandings, and find solidarity in our shared convictions — while celebrating the richness that our differences bring. We work not only to build bridges among our own members, but to extend that spirit of cooperation and goodwill into our broader faith communities and the city we all call home.

Throughout the year, we gather for events that reflect the depth and beauty of our many traditions. We open our sacred spaces to one another, pray together at our annual Prayer Breakfast, celebrate the diverse musical expressions of our faiths at our annual Night of Spiritual Music, and pause to give thanks together at our annual Evening of Gratitude.

We believe that when people of faith choose relationship over division, extraordinary things become possible. We invite you to be part of that journey.
